Project Review Service

A fresh pair of expert eyes before you commit.

You've got the plans. Maybe you have a contractor quote, or two. The project is starting to feel real — and that's exactly when the doubt creeps in.

Are the layouts actually right for how your family lives? Is the budget realistic, or are there costs that haven't been accounted for yet? Does this quote cover everything it should?

These are the questions that keep people up at night. And they're much cheaper to answer now than after work has begun.

Starting from £2,500, the Project Review Service is designed for families at this stage — about to commit to something significant, and wanting a confident, experienced perspective before they do.

Who this is for

This service suits homeowners who are well into the planning stages of a renovation or new build who already have:

  • Architectural drawings

  • An indication of your budget

  • Contractor quotes

If you've been wondering whether the plans are as good as they could be, whether you're being quoted fairly, or whether there's something you haven't thought of yet — this is the service for you.

What you’ll come away with

After the review, you'll have a clear written summary covering:

  • An honest assessment of whether the layouts work well for how your family wants to live, and where refinements could make a real difference

  • A realistic view of your budget — what looks sound, what feels tight, and where costs could creep if not managed carefully

  • A better understanding of your contractor quotes, noting anything that needs clarification or renegotiation before you proceed

  • Specific recommendations on what to address before construction begins, and why

  • The confidence to move forward — or the clarity to pause and get the right things in place first

What we cover

Architectural Plans & Layouts
A detailed review of your drawings with a focus on how the spaces will actually work for your family day to day. How does the kitchen flow on a busy school morning? Is the boot room going to be big enough? Does the layout make the most of the light?

Good spatial planning makes a house feel effortless to live in. Problems that aren't picked up now can be expensive and disruptive to fix later — and sometimes impossible to fix at all.

Budget & Investment Review
A realistic look at whether your proposed budget is aligned with the scope and specification of the project. This isn't about cutting corners — it's about making sure there are no unpleasant surprises, and that the money you're spending is going in the right places.

Many clients find this the most reassuring part of the process. Having someone experienced look at the numbers with fresh eyes, and tell you honestly what they think, is genuinely valuable.

Contractor Quote Assessment
Contractor quotes can vary enormously — in price, but also in what they actually include. We review your quotes in the context of the proposed works, flagging anything that looks inconsistent, incomplete, or unclear before you sign anything.

This stage alone can save significant amounts of money, and avoids the frustration of discovering mid-project that something wasn't included in the original price.

Why now is the right time

The earlier a project gets a proper review, the better. Changes made on paper cost almost nothing. Changes made once construction has started can run into tens of thousands of pounds — and that's before the disruption and delay.

Most people who wish they'd had a review at this stage say the same thing: they had a nagging feeling something wasn't quite right, but didn't know how to articulate it. This service puts words, and a plan, to that feeling.

Thinking about more support?

For some clients, the Project Review is the beginning of a longer working relationship. If after the review you'd like more hands-on support through the project — from design development through to procurement and installation — the review naturally leads into the full end-to-end interior design service.

There's no pressure to go further than feels right for your project. But many clients find that once they've had the review, they want the reassurance of having that support in place for the whole journey.

I can vouch for how helpful your guidance has been!! Not only have you saved us considerable ££s in unneeded window and skylight installations but you helped us rework our plans to get me more wish list arrangements my architect had not suggested. Well worth the investment. Thank you!
